Hi There! Sorry it’s been a minute since my last post. The boyfriend moved in with me this last week. So my closet has taken a few radical turns. Now I must share half of it—yikes! I am trying to look at it as a challenge to only keep the items that I’m excited about wearing. We all have those pieces in our closet that linger for a year or two before we decide it’s just not working out between us. I’ve been on a ton of trips to Goodwill and Freestyle clothing exchange. I’ve got a good $80 bucks in trade and cash! This particular outfit was for a local fashion show. My friend Vanessa scored us tickets to the event. The designers name was Richard Hallmarq, he was recently on the show Project Runway and made it very far in the competition. It gives me a great sense of pride to find out such amazing talent comes from our city. He put on a great show, the pieces that stuck out the most to me were these big wrap around neon colored eyewear. Check them out on his website if you get a chance.
If you remember my outfit from the last fashion show, I decided to go with something a bit more simple and sleek this time. I got this dress at Target a few months back and never wore it because the neck hole was HUGE! Luckily Haley was able to save the dress with her killer alteration skills! I purchased these shoes for $20 through justfab.com, because I had to know what all the hype is about. Here’s the secret: read the fine print, these sites don’t just offer one time killer deals on shoes. You’ve got to sign up for their monthly program, where you get charged $40 on the first of each month. You have the option to skip the purchase for the month, as long as you log in and make that decision before the 5th of the month. I don’t know about you but I have enough things on my plate at the moment to remember to buy a pair of shoes or to opt out. I made my first purchase with 20% off and canceled my membership after my first purchase arrived. I might join again in the future because it was a great deal but for now I can’t commit to that memebership. I was really happy with the quality of the shoe, they’re surprisingly comfortable.
What are your thoughts on these monthly programs being offered? Have you a had a good experience with one? Here’s a good article on the comparing the top 7 online shoe clubs.
