Vanessa and I tried something a little different for this shoot. I was tired of the pose-y poses and stark faces. We brought a little device called the EU boom. And basically blasted music as we shot. Super fun, great way to lighten the mood. You can imagine as your photographer is trying to crop you at just the right angle and the model is getting that pose down, it can be a bit silent and off-putting. It’s my boyfriends device but I borrowed for the day. I just went to their website and noticed it comes in different patterns and colors—who knew! This bad-ass gadget connects to your phone via bluetooth plus is water resist! No, this isn’t product placement, I worked at Best Buy for 7 years, so I know a good speaker when I hear it. Plus, my boyfriend is a complete tech snob through and through (specifically speakers, computers and cell phones). He’s already convinced 3 of our friends to buy it. So when we’re out bike riding or out on the river we have double the tunes!
This post is a little light on paint elements comparatively. I am realizing I have to shoot on purely white backdrops to get a high enough contrast between the paint and photo. Noted for next time!
I’m hoping I made you guys a little jealous, by showing off this ridiculously gorgeous tree and lead combinations behind me. I mean seriously, us Sacramentans are spoiled with all this beauty during the fall!
If not’s clear yet at this point, I’m obsessed with faux fur. This little detach-able fur piece has been really fun to just add to any jacket. I might add a string or something to keep it connected in the front. Don’t kill me but here’s a link to a pricey version made by Ted Baker. I’ve staring at for a few weeks now. I don’t expect anyone to buy it but hey you never know—maybe I’ll get ballsy and buy it one day!
As for the outfit, lately I’ve just been summing it up in a matter of words: leopard, tweed, blush pink peplum, pink fur, metallic sunnies, grey skinnies.
These ain’t the J.Crew heels but the Target version will do just fine. The thick heel and rounded toe makes walking much easier. Have a great week!
