Daffodil Hill

By : haley 12 Comments

hat: Nordstrom // white tee: Everlane // corset: Macy’s (similar) // jeans: Citizen’s // oxfords: Target (similar) // mustard sweater: Target (similar) // necklace: St. Eve On Saturday my lady pals and I took a day trip to Daffodil Hill in Amador County. It’s located in a beautiful mountain setting at the 3,000 foot elevation in Amador County. With pine trees, the original 1880’s barn, wagon wheels, gold rush era mining equipment and antique farming implements. It has a great mix of nature and history. Around 300,000 bulbs are in bloom alongside peacocks and chickens—there is said to be miniature donkeys and horses but we’re unable to find them. I’ve been inspired to by Style Scrapbook to try out a bustier/corset layered over plain white t-shirt. See here and here. I really like this pairing because it’s like ultra fitted and feminine offset by the casual form of a tee. I actually really like the corset I put under the outfit break down above. It feels a bit more Spring like with soft pinks and pastels in it. This was taken at a little gardening store in the downtown area called the Antique Gardener—probably my favorite spot on Main St. I fell in love with the french screen made out of pastel colored doors and had to snap a photo. We when we first walked up to the entrance someone said “see they’re not from here” haha I guess we didn’t look rugged enough for these parts. You can’t really tell from the photo but we were gazing upon the peacock we had spotted! Thank you to Alison & Haley for helping me capture many of these shots! If you’re looking to check out this spot, the flowers are only in bloom for about 2 weeks from mid-March to the first week of April. If you can’t make it out this year definitely put it on your calendar for next!
