Trench Coats for Petites

colour_me_classic_pink_trench_24Don’t put your trench coats away just yet! They’re not just for rainy days and fall evenings. Try pairing them with your favorite spring shorts. The long jacket paired with the shorter hemline of your shorts creates contrast in your overall look.

What to Consider When Purchasing a Trench:

–Do you love the fabric? Is it stiff or does it flow? I personally hate fabrics that aren’t fluid.

–Does the color compliment your skin tone? Think lighter colors for darker skin tones and darker tones for lighter skin tones. This will create a strong contrast. Here’s a mid-level dark colored one that would work on both skin tones.

–Pay attention to the collar. I made the mistake of buying of those weird cinch rings, it never hung correctly and was always hitting me in the face. NOT WORTH IT!

–Watch out for Bulk: avoid the pleated waisted lines, unless your 6 ft. tall it’s probably going make you look like a pumpkin.

I’ve purchased several unflattering trenches. You always hear these should be a staple in every women’s closet. Don’t make the same mistakes I have. They’re either been too long, too bulky or have no waistline. Keep those in mind when shopping online or in the dressing room.
