I’m oddly inspired by cloudy days, the energy from the wind made the shoot feel just right.
This was the first shoot Josiah and I have done together in 4 months. I was little nervous about it honestly. We’ve been shooting on and off together for 7 years. So we have a history of over art directing one and other. Now he has a passion project, cardistry. I’m now able able to return the favor by shooting photos and video clips of his tricks.
Over the last year and a half, I decided to use professional photographers, it’s been amazing to say the least! I really like shooting with someone I don’t know as well. It just makes the interaction more exciting. Nothing beats the feeling you get when the finished images arrive to your inbox!
For this shoot, I edited the images myself in Lightroom. It’s been a learning curve to say the least. I seem to learn/find a new tool everyday. Matching white tones in my images has been the biggest battle.
I was really impressed with several creative shots Josiah was able to capture. It’s funny because he learned photography through doing videography. How do I know this? Well, I just finished up designing his website and could see his eye progress as he went through the film program at Sac State.
Moral of the story, I’m finally able to release my worries during the shoot and focus on doing me. Instead of trying to be in front and behind the lens. H A L L E L U J A H! 7 years in the making!
