5 Tips for Layering Your Favorite Sweatshirt

Skirt: Old Navy (similar) // Heels: Forever21 // Sweatshirt: Lulu’s (similar) // Necklace: Anthropologie (similar) // Sunnies: Urban Outfitters   It’s hard to find a soft and cozy sweatshirt that has the right amount of graphic distress to it. When I saw this one on Lulu’s a few months back I knew I had to snag it. Sorry I’m sharing with it you so late after purchasing it, but Obey still sells a similar one on their website–see link above. I wear this sweatshirt to bed almost every night but figured it could also be styled in a sleek way. If you’re wanting to style your big baggy sweatshirt. Here are my tips: 1. Tuck it in! This instantly adds a waist line to your look 2. Roll up the sleeves. You won’t look like a giant bear 3. Layer a collared button up underneath for some extra dimension. 4. Go hood-less. A sweatshirt with a clean crew neck beats the bulk of a hoodie. 5. Add a statement necklace to polish off the look. Those are my discoveries for styling a sweatshirt–do you have any tips to add? Before Josiah photographed this outfit me, he’s inquired if we were headed to “da club.” That’s usually the opposite of what I’m going for when styling an outfit. Maybe it’s the shoes? What do you think, is this too clubby for your taste? Hope you have a great start to your week!

Hi, I think you came up with nice styling, but the shoes are really glamorous, that’s why probably Josiah assumed ‘da club’ theme. I usually don’t wear sweatshirts at all, but I did like your styling ideas, may I should give it a try, there is definite a touch of young and modern trend to it. Zhanna, http://www.stylehenge.com

Great styling tips! Especially rolling up the sleeves…it adds a little something…now I just need to remember to do it. 😉
