From My Desk
As you may know, I am a graphic designer by trade. I’ve been working to get my ideal set up for freelancing from home for quite some time now. I made the plunge and bought the iMac, Herman Miller Aeron chair and even a foot rest hehe. The desk is actually a table from Ikea but it is the perfect length because on one side I can be working on digital production while the other half is devoted to hand sketching and pencil rendering. How do you like my “designer” glasses? I do need them for distance but have to admit I put them on for these photos to look the part.
I think having a clean space that inspires you is so important for creativity. We live on the second floor so I’ve nick named our place “the tree house” I feel like a little bird up here when I’m werking—I mean working.
Right here I’m sketching on Niki’s new branding for “Dream in Neon” which we’ll be launching soon. So excited for her!
I surround myself with plants because it helps feel like I’m outdoors. Another big selling point for this place was the amazing light. The front has no blinds or curtains which I just love because I get to wake up to the morning light flooding in. All my neighbors have curtains and I can’t help but think, man they’re really missing out! But we have a big tree that covers the window for some privacy.
I thought you guys might enjoy a little peak into where I blog and design from. Hopefully I can disclose more of the house to you soon!
